Measurements & Progress Photos

Measuring & tracking your fitness progress is just as important as getting those workouts in and following your meal plans.  Results don't happen unless you put in the work; but what happens when the scale isn't telling you the truthful story or your pants fit loosely even though the scale says you've gained 5 pounds rather than lost.

Tracking and measuring your progress truly tells you a STORY on where you're at in reaching your goals.  Maybe you want to drop some weight but tone up (like most); in doing so you are actually putting on some muscle weight.  And as most people know, muscle DOES weigh more than fat.

There fore the scale is not always an accurate measurement on your progress.  Insert the good ol' selfie!  Taking photos of yourself to truly SEE visually the progress you are making is easily one of my favorite ways to track fitness progress.

These selfies allow you to look back and see the holistic picture.  They also help you get your workout in on days when you just don't want to.  Meaning you look back and see how far you've come!  Let's not forget those "non-scale victories" or "NSV."  Having clearer skin, lifting heavier weights or not stopping in the middle of your workout is a HUGE victory which is measured differently.  These victories truly boost your confidence and keep the motivation going!

Below are some of my favorite videos on describing the BEST ways to take before & after photos as well as get proper body measurements.
