Vision Board 101

Vision boards!  Maybe you've heard of them, maybe you haven't!  But if you're thinking this creative way to display your life's goals, ambitions and desires is a cheesy joke then the joke just might be on you!

"The law of attraction is forming your entire life experience and it is doing that through your thoughts.  When you are VISUALIZING, you are emitting a POWERFUL frequency out into the Universe" according to the very popular book The Secret.

So you might be feeling overwhelmed by looking at so many vision boards online.  Before you begin looking up and doing research know and understand this is YOUR board and no one else's!  Focus on how you want to FEEL; that's what should be on the board!  Your vision board really should be tailored to how you desire to FEEL.  This process is very much a "feelings" kind of project.

When you begin putting your board together consider your goals; what are you working towards?  What would you like to work towards?  How does accomplishing those goals make you FEEL?

Write those things down on a list so we don't lose sight!  What you're working towards can be materialistic or not.  Entirely up to you.  There's no limit, no timeline and no pressure to create your board in a specific way.  However, if you're looking for some direction or guidance it might be best to utilize the 4 Quadrants method.  This method breaks down your board into 4 sections.

1. Career & Finance
What would you like to achieve in your career?  What milestones need to be hit to get you along the way?  What type of income do you desire to have?  Where would you like to see your finances?  How does accomplishing these goals make you feel?  Put some feeling words up there!

2. Health & Wellness
Where would you like to see your health?  What type of body would you like to have physically?  Emotionally how do you feel about your health and wellness?  What types of foods do you eat as a well person?  How do those foods make you feel?

3. Love & Relationships
Now this is not just for a romantic relationship.  This can include the types of friends you desire to have in your life.  What does the relationship with your family look and feel like?  Do you have children?  What does that feel like?

4. Creativity or Miscellaneous
This is the fun section!  This is where you get to include the things you want, materialistic items, vacations, etc. onto your vision board.  Go CRAZY with the feelings words.  Examples like "Celebrate" or "A Cheerful Giver"  You're welcome to snag words from a magazine or type out your favorite quote and print.

Now that you've got a more concrete idea on how to put together your vision board, hunt down some magazines, print outs, etc. grab some clue a piece of cardboard or paper and get to work!

Feel free to share your vision boards with the world via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram using the #hashtag #brittanysvisionaries
